BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M Women’s soccer held their conditioning test and workouts on July 29. There has been a lot of turnover on the roster compared to the 2024 season.
“The team has been built, the chemistry has been built since January, so we’re actually in, you know, we’re just finishing up month seven, getting ready for month eight as we go into the season,” said Head Coach G Guerrieri. “So now it would be different if I pulled 10 out of the portal and they just arrived yesterday to start today, then we would be like scratching our heads like, what do we have?”
“I think it’s just brought in some amazing people, like, not even people who are gonna help us off the field, but just connections, like genuinely awesome people who like our connection off the field is really going to just increase our performance on the field,” said returning forward Kennedy Clark. “Our transfers are going to be huge additions to this team.”
“I think what we’re looking to accomplish is just what we’re working on behind the scenes and just executing that and just working with one another, getting a feel for it and just building off of that from there for the future season coming up,” said transfer Leah Diaz.
The Aggies women’s soccer will scrimmage Rice University at home Tuesday, August 5 at 7:30 before scrimmaging UTRGV on Saturday, August 9 at 7:30.
The team will open the regular season August 14 when they face Baylor.
