TEXAS — Two popular Mexican ice cream brands are issuing a recall over undeclared milk in their products.
Tropicale Foods of Ontario, Canada announced last week it is recalling certain Helados Mexico and La Michoacana popsicles. Both companies were founded in Mexico.
The affected products include “cream” in their ingredients lists, but “milk,” the common name, is not listed. This could pose a risk to those with allergies and sensitivities to milk.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the press release reads.
One illness has been reported so far, the recall states.

Those who own any of these products and are allergic or sensitive to milk should dispose of them.
Affected products were sold at all retail locations nationwide. Some of these products are sold at H-E-B, Sam’s Club, Walmart and CVS.
