Bitcoin was edging lower as sweeping U.S. tariffs against dozens of countries came into force Thursday.
Just before the tariffs took effect, President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that billions of dollars will start flowing into the U.S. In a separate announcement at the Oval Office, Trump said he would impose a 100% tariff on foreign computer chips and semiconductors but spare companies building in the U.S.
Bitcoin fell 0.3% to $114,837, LSEG data show.
