Covenant Health offers immunizations, activities for kids at Back to School Bash

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Covenant Health held a Back to School event on Saturday to save kids a trip to the doctor ahead of the school year.

Covenant hosted the event at its northwest clinic on Saturday morning, offering immunizations and sports physicals for any kids who needed one.

Other organizations and businesses came out to support the effort, offering free goodies and activities for the families.

Holly Thetford, the Director of Nursing at Covenant, says events like these are meant to help families out ahead of school, as this is a busy time of year for both parents and health professionals.

“And all of the sudden Back to School has started two weeks ago, and you try and call in to get with your physician and you may not be able to get in, in time for school, so that’s why we kind of started this was to offer that to the community and let people know that we are here. If you need a doctor and don’t have one...you can come see everything we offer, come see the doctors we have here, and we can just help you throughout the rest of your health journey,” Holly Thetford said.

For anyone who still needs a shot or a physical, Covenant’s Northwest Clinic, near North Frankford and Erskine, offers walk-ins for a variety of services seven days a week.
