The West Hartford, Bloomfield Health District setting up shop for the day at the West Hartford Farmers Market.
They were performing free blood pressure and heart-rate tests, which they say are great first steps in seeing if you’re healthy.
Also at their booth, lots of educational material for people to take home talking about things like diabetes, stroke and asthma.
“I think it’s great that they’re out here and it’s always good to touch base on your health,” said Sarah Egan of West Hartford.
“A lot of people don’t even know that there is a public health department in town,” noted Egan. “So, I think it’s really important for folks to get to know their public health professionals, and what they can offer and how they can be helpful to them and answer questions, and that they’re here for everybody.”
Those with the health district also reminding parents that back-to-school season is upon us asking you to make sure your child is up to date on all their vaccines.
