Gabriel Magalhaes can now help Arsenal repeat Man Utd's Cristiano Ronaldo trick

Trending 1 month ago

Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane caused Gabriel Magalhaes all sorts of problems, and now the defender should be urging Arsenal to sign him.

It’s very rare that Gabriel looks rattled, but against Leverkusen, he did, with Kofane proving to be a thorn in his side at the BayArena.

Kai Havertz helped Arsenal salvage a draw against his former club as his 8th-minute penalty means the tie is finely poised ahead of the clash at the Emirates Stadium next week.

Leverkusen played very well against the Premier League leaders, and Kofane was partly impressive during the first leg in Germany.

Gabriel Magalhaes should tell Arsenal to sign Christian Kofane

Gabriel Magalhaes should now be telling Andrea Berta to add Christian Kofane to his list of attackers to target at Arsenal next summer.

The Brazilian defender had a rather torrid evening in Leverkusen and faced a real battle against the young Cameroonian.

The striker was constantly an outlet for Leverkusen in attack and often found himself running at both of Arsenal’s centre-backs.

The 19-year-old managed two attempts, 33 touches, three key passes, six duels won and two successful dribbles.

Who was Arsenal’s most disappointing player against Bayer Leverkusen?

Speaking about the teenager, Lucy Ward told TNT Sport: “He’s always an outlet, always an outlet. He works really hard with his running.”

Meanwhile, Viktor Gyokeres really struggled for Arsenal against Leverkusen, and the fans were far from pleased with his performance.

The Gunners desperately need to sign a new attacker in the summer, and perhaps Kofane is a player to keep an eye on.

Christian Kofane could be Arsenal’s Cristiano Ronaldo-type signing

Kofane could be Arsenal’s Cristiano Ronaldo-type signing, having impressed so much up against Arsenal that the likes of Saliba and Gabriel recommend him to the board.

Back in 2003, a young Ronaldo impressed Manchester United’s players so much that they told the club that they should sign him.

Just five days after the game, Ronaldo ended up signing for the Red Devils for £12.2 million, and the rest is history.

In a week’s time, the Gunners will welcome Kofane to the Emirates Stadium and will get another chance to assess him, but he is certainly a player to keep an eye on.
