Himachal Professor Arrested For Allegedly Raping Student: Cops

A professor astatine nan Central University of Himachal Pradesh successful Kangra was connected Wednesday arrested for allegedly raping a student, constabulary said.

According to nan police, Chemistry Professor Rajender Kumar (44) asked for intersexual favours from nan student to alteration her investigation topic.

Rajender Kumar told her that if she agreed to his "terms" he would thief her, Kangra Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri told PTI.

The professor past took her to a hotel, constabulary said.

Kangra Assistant Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur said nan matter came to ray erstwhile nan female approached nan constabulary connected Tuesday.

In her complaint, nan student alleged that she was raped by her professor.

An FIR has been registered against Rajender Kumar nether conception 376 (rape) of nan Indian Penal Code and he has been arrested, constabulary said.

He was produced earlier a court, which remanded him successful constabulary custody till March 30, nan SP said.
