Owners of 2 closed Delco hospitals seeking to 'abandon' properties

Trending 5 months ago

The company that owns the now-closed Delaware County Memorial and Taylor hospitals will seek to "abandon" the properties in bankruptcy court on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025.

Attorneys for Prospect Medical Group Holdings say two health hospitals are "under water," with offers to buy them far below liabilities on the properties.

Prospect is the parent owner of Crozer Health.

A hearing is set for Monday to go over the request.

A bankruptcy judge approved Prospect Holdings' plans to close Crozer Health's two hospitals, Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital, back in April, with local officials implementing a contingency plan to make sure essentials, such as ambulances, continued to be readily available to nearby residents.

This is a developing story; check back for more details.
