The Auxiliary of ChristianaCare, Union Hospital has delivered a $120,000 check to renovate the fourth-floor Behavioral Health unit. Auxilians presented the gift in June, extending a multiyear effort that has supported several high-priority clinical spaces.
“As ChristianaCare Union Hospital looks for new ways to improve health in Cecil County, the Union Hospital Auxiliary keeps rising to the occasion to help those we serve,” said Dia Williams Adams, MPA, vice president of Philanthropy at ChristianaCare. “Their generosity brightens lives and strengthens care close to home.”

The new funds were raised on three familiar fronts:
- Good as New Shop: a volunteer-run thrift store at 213 North Street in Elkton. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the shop accepts everything from clothing and books to lamps and small furniture, with every sale supporting hospital care.
- Gift Shoppe: Located just inside the main lobby, the shop offers sundries, greeting cards, flowers and seasonal gifts. Proceeds also flow back to the hospital.
- Flower and specialty sales in the hospital lobby and parking garage throughout the year.
Last year, the Auxiliary donated $130,000 toward the Behavioral Health unit improvements. A gift of $120,000 in 2023 supported the Family Birth Center, Maternal Infant Center, Breast Health Center and other projects that touch patients across the life span.
